The very opening has an extra measure from Trey, who is
lightly grooving in here.. long opening..
Tramps jam at 2:44, with Mike and Page screwing around in
the beginning of it as usual, but Mike is laying down all
sorts of trippy licks. Not standard at all.
Trey comes in at 3:23 sustaining in typically erie MikeS
fashion (and Mike lets out some more of these spooky licks
that grab your attention... but is mostly doing the
standard tramps jam groove). Trey's soloing in here ain't
shabby.. he is definitely more active than in Mike's Songs
of old. Everything is into a reptitive theme around 4:30
ish.. just not that tasty to my ears. Closing tramps
segment Mike's chords at 5 mins, then the post-tramps jam
kicks in at 5:15. It's nuts, as usual. Nothun special.
Closing Mike's song chordwork at around 7 mins or so.
Hydrogen enters at 7:33. WHAT THE F#CK!?!?! Mike wigged
out in this otherwise beautiful Hydrogen.. bwaahaahaha..
highly recommended. THere he goes again!!!!
bwahaahahahaha.. I don't even want to attempt to describe
what Mike does.. just hear it for yourself.
Weekapaug at 10:37.. Mike's opening solo is snappy and
funky and quick, and grand as usual.. he covers a lot of
territory, too.. fun fun fun..
Jam segment at 12 mins. Feedback. No real opening jam
from Trey.. kinda lame actually. At 12:30, they are
already in a "quiet mode" of sorts, with some groovy stuff
from Mike, though. Cool.. everyone is playing off of each
other in here very nicely. Toying with each other, it
sounds like.. no hardcore jamming especially. Just clever
improv from all.. still kinda quiet around 13:40 but
steadily building, thanks primarily to Page it sounds
like.. and Fish.. at 14:04 Trey finally starts soloing in
true Weekapaugian fashion. Mike is still funkily wigging
out... At 14:37, another quiet mode of sorts.. more quiet
than the first.. Trey's jam was very fleeting. Around 15
mins, total quiet mode, with Fish adding nice fills, and
mixing it up. At 15:32, though, everyone comes in on
Weekapaug out of this mode, and again, Trey starts soloing
well. Just isn't that grand, based on what I've heard
him do. This whole closing jam sucks next to 2/4/93,
frankly. Oh well. Some fun Mike in the ending.. Closing
segment comes in around 16:40 or something. This final
segment, akin to 2/4/93, is fun.. they aren't quite vocal
jamming in the traditional way, but it sounds like Trey is
repetitively saying something.. I dunno. Whatever. Total
time 18:14. C+ rating. Check out this hysterical
Hydrogen, though.
